Where this began

I used to think there would be more time.

Saying goodbye felt like something that happened in other people’s lives.
Other families. Other stories.

I knew, as we all do, that one day I would have to part with the people I loved. But knowing something in your head and feeling it in your life are not the same thing.

Then one day, a phone call came.

Just that. A phone call. An ordinary moment that quietly split everything into before and after.

That was when I understood: goodbye does not always arrive slowly. It does not always give you a warning. It does not wait until you have found the right words.

I had so many things I never said.

Words I kept saving for later. For the right moment. For when there was more time.

But later never came.

Before Goodbye was born from that weight.

Because many of us carry words we have not yet found a place for. Words of love, regret, gratitude, apology, longing, and things too difficult to say out loud.

This is a quiet place to put those words down.

Not perfectly. Not publicly performed. Not for anyone to judge.

Just honestly.

For someone who left.
For someone still here.
For the part of yourself that never got to say goodbye.

Before goodbye, write the words you never sent.
